Queen Elizabeth II – Suites

The Truelux Group has had the privilege of being involved in a major and truly unique refurbishment on board the legendary QE2. The ship wanted to elevate 44 of its Sun & Signal Deck suites along with 2 Duplex Suites and the famous Queens Elizabeth and Queen Mary Penthouses. The team was initially contracted to manage both FF&E and OS&E procurement for these areas, with the scope quickly developing to include lighting consultancy and supply. On this project we have had the opportunity to work directly with the QE2’s talented  in-house design consultancy team to create a true design and build project where our consultancy skills and market knowledge have truly been put to the test. We have felt deeply engaged with the design and each stage of the project process and are really proud of how the project has turned out.

Some of our project highlights in the suites include the custom designed ‘British Racing Green’ lamp shades and matching marble desk tops, along with the stunning headboard with leather in-set and LED cove lighting. We have also loved bringing back to life some of the ship’s original pieces, including the Artwork collection and Teak Balcony lounge chairs, with some of these being over 50 years old. If you ever visit the suites make sure you check out the QE2 logo embossing within all the Artwork mounts as it’s the little touches that always make a big difference.
